San Francisco Beach
A sandy beach with a protected swimming area. There is a
Restaurant overlooking the turquoise Caribbean. Lounges
and hammocks can be rented. In addition there are several
small shops. Parking is ample.

    Palancar Beach
From town as you travel south along the water you will
come to El Cedral this is a small Mayan ruin. Instead of
making a left into El Cedral on your right directly apposite
the entrance to El Cedral there is a dirt road. At the end
of this road you will find several palapas and a deserted
beach. Rare for this side of Cozumel. On this beach there are
Several small native fishing boats. You might see local fisherman
coming in with the days catch.

         Playa Azul
This is not actually a beach, however I mention this site
because it has good snorkeling. There is a bar/restaurant and
bathrooms across the road. All in all a good spot to spend a
few hours.

    Punta Chiqueros
This beach is on the back side of the island. The waters here
can be rough but this spot is protected by a jetty so swimming
is good. There is a restaurant on this beach. The beach itself
is truly a lovely beach don't mind the seaweed.

    Chankanab Beach
This is Cozumels most famous beach. The snorkeling is excellent.
On this beach you will find many tourists, however this is truly
a must because if you miss this beach/park you will truly be
missing one of Cozumels best attractions on land.
There is a park fee but it is well worth it. The park has come
a long way from many years ago. There are dolphin and sea lion
shows. Or perhaps you would like to take a walk through the
beautiful tropical gardens.
Along your walk you will see historic carvings from stone. There
are many lovely tropical plants and flowers through out the
park. Also as you walk the paths you will find many friendly Iguanas
that are just waiting to greet you.
If this is all to much for you you can just lay out and get
a tan.
There are many more beaches and places to discover. We leave this
to you. Half the fun is finding your own specail place.
So come on and explore the island and see the wonders that await
you.
